Here's what we are up to: have developed work/task groups, communications, food/water, transportation, border crossing, health and safety maybe a couple of others I just can't think right now.

Our plan is to stay in Banjul at Sylvia's house until Friday, Saturday or Sunday). Then back to Dakar to Gorée for ceremonies as Ingrid and Akiba plan.

Then until March 1st travel through Mali, Guinea into Cote d'Ivoir by 3/1. Kato has mapped a route down the west coast from Cote d'Ivoir to Nigeria, with possible day trips into the interior as sites inform us. This should take us approximately 40 days (600 miles) 3/1 to 4/30. Cheap flight from Lagos to Lusaka, Zambia. From Lusaka, train (two days) to Jo'burg. Walk from Jo'burg to Cape Town arriving by 6/14-15 for the anniversary ceremonies of the Soweto uprising.

Today Clare and I will send a letter to Rev. Byrd requesting she compose and make available to us a letter of introduction of the Pilgrimage to the various government and religious officials we will meet as the Pilgrimage travels through Africa.

Give everyone our hugs and kisses where possible and extend our heartfelt concern to all the Pilgrims scattered across the Diaspora.

For the Pilgrimage,
